SINCE THE INFLUX OF BRITISH TOURISTS ONE OF BRAZIL'S COMMONEST BIRDS THE GREAT KISKADEEA FLYCATCHER, HAS CHANGED ITS DIET FROM BEETLES AND INSECTS TO CHIPS. THIS BIRD ABOUT THE SIZE OF A STARLING, SWOOPS DOWN ON A PLATE OF CHIPS AT THE RENAISSANCE HOTEL IN SALVADOR, BRAZIL AND SWALLOWS THE FRIES WHOLE. TURNING THE CHIPS UPRIGHT IN ITS BEAK IT THEN GULPS DOWN THE TREATS LEFT BY TOURISTS LIKE A SWORD SWALLOWER. PIC MIKE WALKER, 2008
