Skogafoss, a prominent waterfall in southern Iceland is about 25 metres wide and 60 metres high. The waterfall is situated on an ancient coastline, but now removed from the sea due to isostatic uplift of the area since the last ice age. Since the waterfall descends over a south-facing cliff, its spray often produces a single or double rainbow in sunny weather.
