A typical and classic Danish pølsevogn - a hot dog stand - on the main pedestrian street, Stroeget (Strøget) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Pigeons are normally crowding around the stands as they are often being fed with breadcrumbs from the rolls. The stands are essentially hand-pulled waggons (with an auxiliary engine) with room for one or two persons making the hot dogs. One of the remarkable things is the Danish variety of dressings. The first Danish hot dog stand is from 1920. Fast food, such as sausages and burgers, became more expensive when the Danish government imposed a fat tax of 16 kroner (£) per kilogram () of saturated fat in a product as from October 2011. Note the amount of parked bicycles and a branch of the Danish bank "Danske Bank" in the background.
