It arrives in March and remains until cold weather sets in. It breeds in April and May. The nest is merely a depression in the ground with, at times, a slight lining of grass. The eggs are usually four, pyriform in shape, dull white, blotched and spotted with chocolate brown, more numer- ous at the larger end, and measure x Killdeer Plover.
