1800s - ARISTOCRATIC DUEL AT 12 PACES - PISTOLS AT DAWN. A newspaper report from 1842 concerning a duel with guns between Esquire of Marford House Surrey, UK and Sir Robert Cardington over a disagreement at an ant corn law meeting at Wilford, Nottinghamshire. Cardington was wouunded in the arm near the elbow, Stanfield was hit but only through his collar.
