Stokesay Castle a fortified 13th Century manor house.


Stokesay Castle is a fortified castle now under the guardianship of English Heritage. It was originally built in the 13th Craven family and their tenants succeeded the Ludlows at Stokesay, but by the begining of the 19th century the castle buildings had fallen into a state of decay and were being used by a nearby the death of Lady Magnus Allcroft the castle came to English Heritage, and is currently open to the general public for unrestricted viewing and photography.
