Opened by the Queen of the Netherlands in 2014m the Markthal (Market Hall) is a bright and breezy roofed shopping and residential development in the Binnnenrote area of the city. The inside of the building is adorned with a giant artwork named Hoorn des Overvloeds (Horn of Plenty), featuring giant fruits, vegetables, seeds, fish, flowers and insects. This covered market area is a firm favourite with both locals and tourists. Here we see fragmented and surreal reflections in the giant window at one end of the structure. A polarising filter allows us to see both the interior and exterior.
