Sinceretiring from that field of labor he has engagedin the real estate business with an office in theCutting block, handling city property, and dur-ing the seven years which have since elapsed hehas negotiated a number of important realtyt lansfers. Mr. Mack was married in 1865, at Conover,Iowa, to Miss Jane Flemming, who died a fewyears later. Of their three children, Robert L. is. UZIAH MACK. PAST AND PRESENT OF WILL COUNTY. 657 deceased; Mary P. wedded Harless King and re-sides in Joliet; and William F. succeeded hisfather in the shoe business in Joliet. In 1883 was married to Miss Carrie M. Cagwin, andthey have two children: Josephine E., who is nowattending school at Lake Forest, Illinois; andFrancis C, a student in Joliet. The parents are members of the Presbyterianchurch and Mr. Mack belongs to the Grand Armyof the Republic. He is one of Joliets oldest andmost substantial business men, having for almosta half century been identified with its commer-cial progress and development and the regard inwhich he is uniformly held is indicative of hismode of life and his method of procedure in thebusiness world.
