A sabre for a Hungarian magnate, 19th/20th century Single-edged blade (of earlier date) with fullers on either side and broadened, double-edged point. On the obverse side two sickle marks and inscription "FRINGIA" at the base of the blade. Florally chased, gilt silver grip, the obverse with applied image of St. George and set turquoise and garnet cabochons. Velvet-covered wood scabbard with silver fittings set with garnets and turquoises and chased en suite.
