ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Air Force Airman 1st Class Lucas Folks, 97th Civil Engineer Squadron heavy equipment operator, applies expansion joints to wet concrete Oct. 10, 2013. Lucas was creating an expansion joint between two slabs of concrete to keep one from damaging the other if it were to crack. The 97th replaced damaged asphalt on an access road with new concrete, saving the base thousands of dollars in contracting costs
