He holds a mallet in his right hand and leans against a fragment of sculpture similar in form to the Belvedere Torso (Rome, Vatican Museums), one of the most famous and admired works of classical sculpture; his left hand grasps another item, broken off at the base, that may have been a chisel. It was likely made as part of a larger group that could have been used to decorate a dining able during the dessert course. Incised on the base “Bernard” possibly for the sculptor Bernard Huet
