Salmonella farm bacteria research. Researcher pipetting samples developed from cattle faecal waste into a solution that detects Salmonella bacteria. Some strains of Salmonella can cause severe disease (salmonellosis) in cattle, leading to dehydration and death. Herds can be vaccinated, but some cows will carry the disease for many months after infection.
