Following the damage to Toddbrook Dam in August 2019 repairs have now started, with trees in Memorial park being felled to allow access to the dam


Cw 8098 Cleared Memorial park Whaley Bridge Following the damage to the spillway on the wall of Toddbrook Dam and partial temporary evacuation of Whaley Bridge in August 2019 the Contractors, Kier, for the Canal and River Trust have now started work, on the repair and improvement works on the site. This was the view from the path through Memorial Park now that a number of trees and the children’s playground have been removed before the heavy plant arrives to start the reconstruction of the spillway across the park followed by refacing of the dam with a grassy slope once all the old concrete panelling has been removed.
