On a summer's day, narrow boats are moored under a lovely blue sky in one of the arms at Bugsworth Basin.

Near Whaley Bridge in the Peak district of Derbyshire is the terminus of the Peak Forest Canal at Bugsworth Basin. This area used to be a transhipment basin between tramway's that brought quarried lime stone down from the higher hills. Here it was processed and loaded into narrow beam canal boats to be carried on into the industrial North West. The basin was rescued from dereliction by the Bugsworth Basin Heritage Trust and is now a popular destination for modern leisure boaters.
