NEWPORT, (March 31, 2017) Officer candidates await their official appointment as Navy ensigns during an officer candidate school graduation held at Kay Hall onboard Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island. Eighty-one officer candidates participated in the ceremony. The mission of OCS is to develop civilians, enlisted and newly commissioned personnel morally, mentally and physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare them for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
