The A14 Huntingdon bypass dual carriageway route in Cambridgeshire was not expected to be finished until late 2020, but drivers will be able to use it from this December. The Department for Transport says Highways England has made Òexcellent progressÓ and the 12-mile stretch will be opened ahead of schedule. The full 21-mile project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. Lobbyists have spent years campaigning for the Government to deal with the bottleneck on the A14 and the planned changes are set to cut an estimated 20 minutes off journeys and reduce local congestion.
