The Marenga Mkali is a high sandy plain,separating the Usagara mountain edge from the easternborder of the country of Ugogo, over which are scattered anumber of little granite hills, many of them conicalin form; but the country is intersected by many beds ofperiodical streams, and Cameron was of opinion that watermight be got by digging.
