The Grand Lodge of Ireland and the DublinBrethren did everything possible to make the sessions a success, and there can be nodoubt but Orangeism the World over will be very much better and very much healthierbecause of this session. Bro. William Young, Grand Master of Scotland, was appointed Imperial Grand Pre-sident, and Bro. James Rice, Grand Secretary of Scotland, was appointed Imperial GrandSecretary—this being the first time on record in which the Grand President and Secretarywere elected from the same jurisdiction. The next meeting was fixed for Toronto, Canada, in July, 64 DEMONSTRATIONS, BANQUET, AND EXCURSIONS. The delegates from the Colonies and the United States to the Imperial Grand OrangeCouncil had a fine opportunity of seeing Orangeism as it exists in the Home-land, as theyhad all arrived in time for the celebrations of the Glorious 12th. Glasgow. Many of the delegates found their way to Glasgow for the monster demonstrationheld there on Saturday, 11th July. The Orangemen of about 23 different Districtsassembled on the Glasgow Green (Public Park), and with numerous bands, and bannersand flags proceeded to Greenock, where the place of rendezvous was, and here they wereagain met by other 10 District Lodges. The whole procession then marched to a fieldwhich commanded a beautiful view of the Firth of Clyde, where a platform had beenerected, and where—being on a hill—the whole assemblage could be seen for mile
