Yeondeunghoe is a lantern-lighting festival in Korea celebrating the Buddha's Birthday. It is inscribed in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List from 2020 and enlisted as South Korean Intangible Cultural Property from 2012. To celebrate Buddha's birthday on April 8th by the lunar calendar, various kinds of colored lamps hanging up on many ropes are lighted at night, a spectacle to enjoy from the vantage point of a hill.
