Female standing amongst laundry
This image is of a lady whose duties included assisting with the laundry. Behind her is a kitchen and two large water storage tanks. The water used for the washing was taken from jerrycans which were used as a back-up to the main water tanks. Although the tanks had mains supply, this would prove to be unreliable on occasion.
