Brig. Gen. Darren L. Werner, commanding general of the 13th ESC, pins the Gold Star lapel pin on Greg Kieschnick, son of Chaplain Alton Raymond Kieschnick, who died in 1975 while returning from a training event to Fort Hood, during the 13th ESC memorial rededication ceremony on Sept. 21, 2018 on Fort Hood, Texas. The Kieschnick family was officially recognized as a Gold Star family during the ceremony.
