About thirty miles this side of Lake Teslin we reachedthe summit, where waters run north. I may say the head-waters of the Yukon commence from this point. A greatnumber of lakes were found. When the government grant is expended on the trailthe trip could be made in twelve or fifteen days with apack train from Telegraph creek, at per pound, say, 12cents, and could leave by the middle of May in ordinaryseasons and by the time the destination would be reachedthe ice would be out of the lakes.
