This image shows Palazzo Generali in Piazza Venezia in Rome, Lazio, Italy. Directly across the Palazzo Venezia is the Palazzo Generali, built between 1906 and 1911 as a virtual copy of the Palazzo Venezia. The building replaced two palazzos that were demolished in 1900 for the expansion of the square. The Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali di Venezia, was built in Piazza Venezia near the Palazzo Venezia, by the architects Alberto Manassei, Arturo Pazzi and Guido Cirilli during the renovation of the square caused by the construction of Vittoriano. The building incorporates the broad outlines of Palazzo Venezia also incorporating the tower on the south-west corner. The facade has large arches on the ground floor, separated from the upper floors from a frieze marcapiano continuous painting. The upper part is characterised by a series of romanic windows surmounted by little windows and, in a central position, from a lion of St. Marco, dating back to the sixteenth century and coming from a bastion of the walls of Padua.
