Biliary drainage. Coloured X-ray of the abdomen of an 69 year old patient undergoing biliary drainage. This is a procedure to drain a blocked bile duct. A drain tube (dark line from left to centre) has been inserted through the skin and liver into the bile duct. The drain attaches to a bag outside of the body and siphons off the bile that is blocking the duct. This blockage has been caused by pancreatic cancer.
