He is always hopping from perch to perch, not stopping to sing, but pouring forth his merry song as he goes. In size he is about as large as an English Robin, The back is olive brown, changing to yellow at the head, and to gray on the sides. The throat and breast have a patch of bright orange, shaded towards the border. The wings are dark, each wing-feather edged with orange. The beak and feet are bright coral red.
