The two condensers for the exciter engines aresimilar to those for the main engines, except that they aresmaller and are provided with combined air and circu-lating pumps attached to the same steam cylinder. Agravity oiling system is provided for the main engines. A General Electric 1500-kw 6600-volt three-phasegenerator, running at 75 r. p. m., is directly connected toeach of the main engines. The armatures are stationary,. ONE OF THE NEW GENERATING SETS IN THE ULTIMO EXTEN-SION POWER HOUSE while the field poles are attached directly to the peripheryof the engine fly-wheel. The fly-wheel hub and spider isa casting in two parts, and the hub is fastened to the shaftby means of six long, bolts through the hub and tightenedin place while hot. The rim is made up of eight cast-steel segments, four of which are equal to the circum-ference of the wheel, the other four being placed besidethe first four, but arranged to break joints. Forty fieldpoles, which at seventy-five revolutions will give a fre-quency of 25 cycles, are bolted to the outer face of theengine fly-wheel rim, the bolts passing right through therim of the wheel. Exciting current is led by means of twocables fastened to one of the spider arms, from the collectorring on the shaft to the field winding. The stationaryarmature is divided into four parts for convenience of ship-ping, and are bolted together when assembled,
