Therefore we distri- buted several thousand sample pack- ets of the seed gratis for trial in 1890, and it has pleased so many of our customers that we consider it worthy of general introduction. The vines are very healthy and vigorous in growth and of marvelous productiveness, bearing bunches of ten to tifteen fruits each. As shown in the illustration, the tomatoes are very distinct in form, being almost perfectly apple-shaped; the round- ness and bright scarlet color make them very attractive in appearance. Of tine flavor, the tomatoes are very solid, without any hard core; they are borne early and continuously throughout the" season. Mr. James H, Cook, of Forest, Ontario, rejwrts that he picked ripe fruits in 113 days from planting, and that an average Chemin tomato, of 9)^ inches in circumference, weighed 6^^ ozs., â while a Du:arf Champion of exactly the same size weighed 6 ozs., and an Optimus onlv oYg ozs.
