The trial of Warren Hastings, 1788-1795 (1905). Warren Hastings was the first Governor of the Presidency of Fort William (Bengal). He was accused of corruption and impeached in 1787, but was acquitted of all charges by the House of Lords in 1795 after a marathon trial.
