Blue and white cup showing calligrapher Wang Xizhi, China, 1573-1620. Ming dynasty cup with steeply flared sides and lipped rim. The decoration is delicately pencilled with a depiction of the famous calligrapher Wang Xizhi (c303-c361 AD) seated at a table beneath a tree in a fenced garden turning to an attendant who is holding a goose.
