Campaigner, Ian Morrison from Kilwinning in Ayrshire has set up a tent in the grounds of the Scottish Parliament and has threatened to carry out a hunger strike until he is allowed to meet with SNP Health Minister, Shona Robison. Morrison's campaign relates to the use of opioids in treatment in the Scottish NHS where drug related general acute stays have increased from 41 people to 143 people per 100k between 1996 and 2016. Morrison has stated that he has spoken with his own MSP, Ruth Maguire who has told him that there is nothing she can do and Shona Robison's team have refused to allow him to discuss the issue with the Health Minister.
