Army Sgt. 1st Class Steven Childs, a support operations maintenance supervisor assigned to the 601st Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, and his son, Brandon, are honored during a division retirement ceremony July 14, 2022, Fort Riley, Kansas. Childs, who served 20 years in the military, received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Department of the Army Certificate of Retirement, a Certificate of Appreciation, and a folded American flag.
