This Society was organized fifty-three years ago for the purpose of improv-ing the social, moral and religious condition of seamen. As a means tosecure these ends, there has been erected on Front and Dock streets a Sea-mens Home and a Seamens Bethel, where seamen are properly cared forand attended, and where the ministrations of the Gospel can be are conducted at the Bethel every Sunday afternoon commencing at3 oclock. Any person contributing Two Dollars annually is a member of the Society,or by paying Twenty Dollars at any one time is a member for life.
