Private Gibbon, a photographer from South Carolina, took this photo on November 20, 1918. The image shows a view of Apremont and Baulney from Hill No. 244 near Chatel Chehery in the Ardennes, France. On the right, we can see Bois de Taille L'Abbe, one of the German fortress hills. This vantage point provided the German defenders with a commanding view. The photo was released by the AEP censor, and the date of the censor's release is unknown. It is labeled with the documentation number 111-SC-34714.
