Stone doorway cut from a single slab of rock, Mnajdra Temples, near Qrendi, Malta.

Built circa 3000 BC., they are the oldest free-standing stone structures in the world, being older than both Stonehenge and the Pyramids. Note also the huge tent structure which is designed to protect them, but unfortunately is attracting birds.
