With full forces operating in all the stores, cooler weather with us again, and the general improvement in all kinds of stock, things are looking very bright. Many early fall weddings are taking place now, which makes a very nice outlet for early chrysanthemums and other fancy stock that is just com- ing in. Early Golden Glow chi-ysanthe- mums and some very nice dahlias have made their appearances. Asters have improved greatly and very fine stock in these flowers can be had at very low figures, running from $ to a thousand on the best stock. The Comet varieties receive the last call in this city, and it would be much more profitable for the growers to ship more of this type of asters. Carna- tions from the new plants are now arriving, but do not stand much of a show while such an excellent qual- ity of asters are to be had. Roses are also improving and are here in large quantities. American Beauty are arriving a little too far advanced and it is impossible to get regular prices out of all of them. The quality, how- ever, in these flowers is fine. We had a very much needed shower both Sun- day and Monday, and outside foliage has attained a much brighter
