Sinclair, a time-honored resident of Uethlehem, died at his summerhome, June 27, after a brief illness. He was born in Barnstead, March 25, following a country merchants life for several years he prepared for collegeat Newbury, Vt., institution, but owing to business ambition gave up the collegeidea and soon attained an enviable business reputation. Mr. Sinclair represented the town in the state legislature six different terms,and was elected senator one term, and once was Democratic nominee for UnitedStates senator. In 1866, 67, and ;68 he was Democratic candidate for governor,and was chairman of the state delegation in the National Democratic conventionin 1868. He was the father of Col. Charles A.
