Westley; deacons, D. K. Ramey and Lewis CHRIST SECOND, ALTOONA Stahl; treasurer, A. J. Riley. These officers were installed onthe evening of the day of organization, Rev. Henry Baker, ofthe First Church, preaching the sermon and installing the sermon, which immediately preceded the formal organizationof the congregation was preached in the morning by Rev. Sam-uel Domer, of Reading, Pa. ( >n November 13, 1871, Rev. George Scholl, of New Philadel-phia. ( >hio, became pastor of the congregation. In January, 1873,the congregation, now numbering no members, bought the pres-ent site of the church and manse. The corner-stone of the. WILLIAM BELL ) K. KAMEY church was laid August 10, 1873, and the lower story of thebuilding was dedicated February 22, 1874, the sermon beingpreached by Rev. Dr. F. W. Conrad; the services being partici-pant in by Revs. Baker, Graves, Boyer, Ryder, and Crist. Inthe afternoon the Sunday school of the congregation was organ-ized. D. K. Ramey was elected superintendent; Lewis Walton,librarian ; Lewis Stahl, assistant librarian, and A. J. Riley, secre-tary and treasurer. Rev. Scholl closed his pastorate July 12, 1874. Rev. Charles T. Steck was called as pastor in November, continued as the pastor of the congregation until January 16, 3S5 NORTHEAST CONFERENCE 1876, resigning to take charge of the Indiana pastorate.
