The Prince of Wales at landing at Gibraltar, from a sketch by our special artist, 1876. The future King Edward VII travels via the Mediterranean on his return from a royal visit to India. 'The Prince here met his brother, the Duke of Connaught. He was welcomed by the Acting Governor and staff, the officers of the garrison and those of the Royal Navy, the colonial officials, and others. A guard of honour was drawn up on the quay, and flowers were strewn in the path of his Royal Highness'. From "Illustrated London News", 1876.
