A late Roman folding iron chair for a field commander, 3rd/4th century Iron with silver inlay. Folding frame of flat bars with narrow recesses on top and bottom as well as on the sides. On each side, there are five fastening rings (partly damaged) for the iron bars (one retained) to which the (missing) seating surface was attached. The geometric silver decoration on the outer and on the cross bars has mostly survived (some coated with rust). Dimensions x 39 cm.
