Green winged macaw (Ara chloroptera). This parrot can grow up to 90 centimetres in length and weigh up to kilograms. It ranges throughout central and south America feeding on seeds, fruits and nuts which it cracks with its beak. It has a zygodactyl foot which has two toes facing forward and two facing backwards. This adaptation helps it to climb trees and hold food.
