Hoe often, and when out of danger of insects, thin out to three or four plants to a hill. Middle of June to July 15th is the right time to sow for pickles. One ounce will plant about 50 hills. Two pounds to one acre. EARLY RUSSIAN. One of the earliest in cultiva- tion; resembles the Early Frame, but is smaller and shorter, being onlv four inches long.
