Thillai Nataraja Temple, Chidambaram is reportedly 3500 years old built over a 35-acre land in the heart of the city. The temple as it stands now is mainly of the 12th and 13th centuries. Since this temple is all about forms and human, there are nine gateways in the temple, just like the Nava Dwaras in the human body. There are 4 main gopurams (4 entrances) facing the cardinal is a gigantic masterpiece in itself - about an averageheight of 250 feet in height, with seven tiers
