A late Bronze Age kidney pommel sword, 9th century Bronze sword with a slender grip and kidney-shaped pommel. Pommel and hilt are decorated with points. A fishbone and line motif repeated four times on the grip, which is meant as the stylized representation of two ships. The blade has a central ridge and two parallel rows of lines. Length cm. Weight 714 g. Metal well-preserved with reddish-brown and green patina in places. The point is missing. Axel Guttmann Collection (AG 1014). Presumably from northern Germany. Published in H. Born/S.
