Lafitte Louisiana USA

Barataria Bay (named after the mythical land sought by Cervantes Don Quixote is in Southeastern Louisiana on the Mississippi river. It was used as the base of the pirates led by Jean Lafitte in the early 19th century, and is today a notable resource of shrimp and sulfur, as well as one of muskrat furs, natural gases and oil. It is fringed by a complex system of bayous, canals, channels and small embayments. A showboat floats by a bayou jetty
