ULCERATION OF THE UTERUS. 1705. Ulceration is the process by which ulcers, or sores, areproduced. It is characterized by the secretion of pus, or somefetid discharge, and is continued as a local disease through theoperation of constitutional causes. Ulcers are generally symp-toms of other morbid conditions. Ulcers may form in the mouth or neck of the uterus, and,omitting cancerous ulcers and those of a syphilitic character,which are considered elsewhere, may be classified as Granularand Follicular. 1706. Orauillar Ulcer. This variety of ulcerativedegeneration is the most frequent, and may exist for some time. The Fergnsson Speculum. without exciting any suspicion in the mind of the patient thatshe is afflicted with any such morbid condition.
