SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, GALAPAGOS - MAY 2006: World renowned Darwin historian and Galapagos conservationist Frank Sulloway takes a photograph of a quinine plant along the border of a quinine eradication zone in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Quinine, which takes up the left portion of this photograph, spread from a local farm just a few decades ago and has now overtaken huge stretches of the island's higher elevations. In recent years, Sulloway has been conducting several research projects designed to track ecological changes to the islands. (Photo by Eric Rorer/Aurora) (releasecode: rorer_0008)
