Deaconess Katherine J. Beynon. Head of St Hilda’s Society in Lahore, she was the daughter of Major General William Howell Beynon, Political Resident of Jeypore, Rajputana. Her grandfather was also a General and her great-uncle, Lord Lawrence, was the first Viceroy of India. Her three brothers were also high-ranking army officers. Photograph by Vernon Kaye, 1892.
