The pub is situated right on the waterfront at the mouth of historic Portsmouth Harbour, commanding views of the Solent across to the Isle of Wight. It was originally called, having been established in the 1800's the Still Tavern but was renamed when the landlord's daughter married into a neighboring family owners of the East & West Country House.
