The Nore Sailing Race in the Thames Estuary has been held annually since the 1920s, and starts and finishes from Southend Pier, Essex and is a race for dinghies, catamarans and yachts organised by Benfleet Yacht Club. Pictured: the M20 Vampire Project racing catamaran, the fastest craft in the race, seen passing the wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery which sank in 1944 in the Thames Estuary.
