1993 Russian Constitutional Crisis. Evening session on 22 September 1993 of the Supreme Soviet, Parliament, inside of the Russian White House in Central Moscow. Russian President Boris Yeltsin had disbanded the Supreme Soviet on 21 September 1993. Vice President Aleksandr Rutskoi and Supreme Soviet speaker Ruslan Khasbulatov, shown sitting center above the podium, lead Soviet lawmakers to barricade themselves inside the White House. The speakers dais sits below a large Russian flag inside the Supreme Soviet parliament conference hall.
